Guess where I've been hiding??

YEP, it's true.. I paid a visit to the lady herself! :) One of my best friends has been living in New York with her little daughter who models/acts and me and 2 other friends went up to be with her on her birthday. My wonderful parents payed for my trip because they knew how long I have wanted to go! Thanks Mom and Daddy!!! I can't even tell you how much I loved it, to the point where I was brought to tears more than once. Just to be able to be at ground zero in person and to see the lady was very moving.

This is actually the view from Kim's apartment balcony. It was great to wake up and see this every morning. I took this one morning while everyone else was still sleeping.
Times Square... I LOVE Times square

We had so much fun shopping and we did lots of eating!! we did all of the touristy stuff..
It was everything I hoped it would be!! I have a ton of pictures, but I would be here all day if I posted them all. heck.. I even loved the subway! :) and the crazy taxi drivers!( my friends 4 year old can hail a taxi like nobody's business) yep, I love New York!

I had to post a picture of the Broadway sign, one of my lifelong dreams was to be on Broadway.. ok,so I was on Broadway, not ON Broadway.. but I did see a show.. Mary Poppins!! It was fabulous! :)
I'm finding it impossible to describe... but lets just say.. I will from this day forth stop making fun of people with bumper stickers that say I LOVE NEW YORK.. I SO get it now! ;)

Cupcakes and a finished quilt

I made these cupcakes for the baby shower I gave my niece. They were favors for the guests, I'll post pictures of the shower soon, it turned out quite beautiful!

Gabbie had to get in on the action, she made a cake all by herself. Well, ok.. I crumb coated it for her! :) and I finally finished the quilt for baby Sayla. This was my first quilt, I had fun with it, but I've always been a rule breaker, I just made it up as I went along. I have always been very intimidated by quilts...so.. not your standard quilt, but it's quilty anyway!!

We're back

We have been in South Florida visiting my sister and brother. We had a great time. One of the things we did while we were there was visit a sea turtle rescue hospital.. it was very cool. We also got the chance to see a healthy sea turtle released back into the ocean, very, very cool! Here are a few of the pictures I took.
This is Jonah, he has a very interesting story that you can read here.

This is another turtle being treated, he too was caught in a fishing line and it cut his flipper ( you can see it if you look closely) you can read about Petr Here
We were able to watch them administer medication, the kids thought that was cool, so did I.
The Vet and his assistants are all volunteers. I was amazed at how gentle and caring everyone was. I mean, you expect that, but for some reason, I was almost brought to tears at how passionate these people are about what they do. Simpy amazing.
And here he is after treament, back in his tank

I just loved that place!! There was also a little turtle museum inside and a beautiful gift shop. They also had tables set up outside with everything related to turtles that you could imagine, Locals donate their turtle collections and they sell them dirt cheap for donations.Gabbie thought that was the greatest thing she had ever seen! They accept donations, but entry is free.
All in all, a very cool place to take your kids if your ever in South Florida. I will post pictures of the Sea turtle being released in another post. I was so touched by this experience that I think I'll be doing an auction with donated proceeds, anyone wanna join me?
