New Listing

I told you I've been sewing, most of it has been baby gifts, but I did manage to finally use this beautiful fresh cut fabric. I bought this in Jona's shop a looooooong time ago, and just got around to using it. I love it, but everytime I started to cut it, it hurt my feelings..I have had it on my desk next to my board of inspiration and now it's gone.

I do have to say though, I think my Gabbie looks rather smashing in it. :) I have it listed on ebay .
It's been a long day.. until tomorrow.

Can someone explain this to me?

SAY WHAT?

Here is the back of the card
Just in case we haven't wasted enough time and materials, lets print it on BOTH sides of the extra card that is going straight from the box to the trash, we want to make sure that this useless card is not mistaken for a useful card. Hey... wait, wouldn't it be funny if people actually tried to play with the card that is "NOT FOR PLAY?"
No, No, that might not be funny after all, can you imagine??
Nope, that won't do, lets print both sides of the extra useless card just to be on the safe side.
We also have to be sure that they "throw it away" no souvenirs here.. no sirree, into the trash it goes.

( better put that on both sides too, don't want any hoarders trying to cram it in the junk drawer, and then use the lame excuse that they didn't see the right side of the useless extra card and therefore was jusified in adding it to their stash of extra useless things.)

and hey, look.. it rhymes, wonder how many man hours that took??
And if for some strange reason, you CAN explain that, can you explain

THIS??

Ay~she~wa~wa.... for real???

Our Babies

I put this little video together of some of the children we have had over the past few years, there are actually a lot more of them, but for the first 3 years, I only had a film camera and don't have a scanner anymore so there are lots of children missing from the video ( which I feel horribly guilty about) but I DO plan on getting all of my photos together ( I have hundreds, probably thousands) and making a DVD for our family memories, that is on the list of things to do! :)

I hope you enjoy seeing all of their little faces!! I know I do! :)

Gotta love Gabbie

Ok, so I am over at Ameilia's blog, and I read one of the funniest posts I have ever read in my entire life. And I started thinking, Gabbie has been pretty darn funny this week. I have called all of my family ( like I do every time she does something funny...which is often!) and I thought, maybe you might find it kind of funny too! She's a funny girl my girl...( I have to just give a shout to Jona who made the beautiful dress she's wearing!) You have to check out her fabric shop too!! ok.. on to the funnies..
This was our conversation in the car the other day
Gabbie- MOMMY, WHY do girls have to change their name when they get married and boys don't, it's just not fair
Me- Well, it's just what we do, The husband becomes the head of the house and the wife takes his name.
Gabbie- Well I'm not
Me- you COULD be Gabrielle B-R ( her name plus the name of the boy she says she's going to marry... that's a whole other story)
Gabbie- ummm...NOPE
Gabbie- WHY did YOU do it? was your name ugly?
Me- NO, I liked my name, but I love Daddy and I wanted to share his name with him.
Gabbie- I'm not.. Do you think it will hurt his feelings?
Me- It might
Gabbie- Well, I still ain't doin' it.
( yes, that is my strong willed, hard headed girl, but ya gotta love her, If you know my daughter, you know this conversation was inevitable. maybe she'll change her mind.. but as of right now, it's doubtful)
Story 2
We were driving in the car and she was talking..( she talks ALOT) and I was KIND OF listening and kind of tuned out.. so here is what I remember.....
Gabbie... talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk.....
me- mmmhhmmm, really baby?
Gabbie.. Talk, talk..." But he was crapping all over my style.".. talk talk
me- WHHAAA??? Whaat did you say?
Gabbie- He was crapping all over my style, you know, like when someone messes
with your style, it's called crapping all over your style.
me- Do you mean CRAMPING your style?
Gabbie- Yes, but I'm pretty sure it's called Crapping all over your style.
Me- aye..yi... yi...

SO .. we have been able to spend this past week with our boy. He has really grown, I have to be careful not to cry around him.. I miss him so much that I ache. But I am so happy for the home he has found and he is doing so great. He is going to be such a great big brother!! :) Ok, I'm about to cry( he's leaving in the morning) so let me wrap this up..

I've been tagged

I've been tagged by the very sweet and talented Clara over at Mimi Kattini.
I have to list 7 random things about myself and then chose 7 others to do the same, leaving them a comment on their blog letting them know that they have been tagged
So, here goes..

1. When I was little, I used to walk around the block in my panties declaring " I LOVE DONNY OSMOND" to the top of my lungs.

2. I'm afraid of heights, no really, deathly afraid.. to the point where I could quite possibly pass out, BUT... I love roller coasters and thrill rides.. go figure..( just don't like climbing the stairs to get there)

3. I'm seriously addicted to coke ( ca-cola) not that other stuff.

4. I am desperately wanting to adopt another child.

5. When I was little, I used to catch tadpoles from mud puddles and keep them in a bucket, I would then sell them to the neighborhood kids, .25 for a regular ol' tadpole, .50 if it was starting to sprout legs, and $1.00 for a fully developed frog. ( poor unsuspecting kids, how were they to know that they could have caught their own "FREE" pets only a few short feet from where they stood?)

6. I am still madly, insanely in love with my husband after 15 years.

7. I secretly wish that I had gone to culinary school.

ok, now lets see.. I will tag...

Fingerprint Friday...
There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you I can see the fingerprints of god
and I know its true You're a masterpiece
that all creation quietly applauds
And youre covered with the fingerprints of god

I know it's Saturday, but I just discovered the post over at PamperingBeki about Fingerprint Friday and knew that I wanted to join in. It's nice to have a wake up call to look around and realize that every beautiful thing around us has the fingerprints of God.

I hope you enjoy a few of the many fingerprints I have found around my little corner of the world. I am so thankful for God's fingerprints on..

I've been sewing

Here are a few things that I've made as baby gifts. I actually made quite a bit more than this, but I've already given some away. I love these burp cloths, They are so simple to make but make such a nice gift. I'm crazy about the fabric on these! :)

This darling little dress was made for my little niece Sayla. I can't wait to see her in it. I got the idea from one of my favorite blogs. She got the pattern from what would soon become another one of my favorite blogs. The pattern is free for personal use. I'm sure our little Sayla will look smashing in it. :) I made a couple more that I have given away already. In the one pictured here, I made it exactly like the pattern, in the others, I changed the skirt ( I wanted it fuller) Ok, I take that back, it's not EXACTLY like the pattern.. I left off the piping and the bias hem, I wanted to knock several of these out in a short amount of time so I skipped those 2 steps. Still very cute! It comes in ITTY BITTY sizes.. preemie and newborn. I for one, am always frustrated by clothes that say that they are for a newborn and really would fit an ogre. Not this one..:) I see alot of these in my future!
I made this set for one of our babies. I loved this fabric ( walmart, can you believe it?) I'm usually a bit of a fabric snob, but this was too cute to pass up. I made the matching toy dog out of wool felt. I think next time I will add something to the inside to make it rattle.
So, I think that is about it.....TaTa for now...:)

My kids are loving her up as Gabbie likes to say! It's hard to put her down for sure!!
My girly girl after day of playing with 5 boys at Grammy and Papa's house. notice the dirt stained cheeks?
Cant' forget about my handsome man.. it almost hurts to say that beacause it's coming up way too fast. I can't believe it!!
He's a boy of MANY talents!! skateboarding being one of them, Sometime I will have to post pictures of his art, he is an AMAZING artist!! Gotta love my Logan! ;)

I really am working on some projects, really I am.. projects that don't involve a camera ( well, at least until it's time to post them! :) Hope everyone is having a great Sunday afternoon! :)

Should I be sewing?

Well, of course I should be sewing... what kind of a silly question is that?? instead, I have been playing with my new "toy" that my precious hubby got me! I have alot to learn.. but I have hardly put the camera down since I got it, so if the practice makes perfect theory is correct.. I should have it covered. We have a new angel joining our family today, in fact, I'm on my way to pick her up in about 2 hours, so I hope to have some baby feet shots ( my absolute favorite!!) I can't wait to just hold her, she's 2 days old. Have you noticed that I can change from one subject to the next without a moments notice? ( this could be why I always have 10 different projects going on at once, what is that a sign of??? I wonder) focus Michelle.. back to the photos... here are some practice shots, if you are a photographer and would like to share your expertise, I won't cry if you give me some nice constructive critism! ( ok, maybe I'll cry, but I would still like to hear it)
