My birthday was Friday, normally, we don't do alot for our birthdays ( the kids birthdays are another story entirely) But this year, for some reason, he decided to spoil me rotten ( I think he knew I nearing a birthday meltdown as I get closer and closer to 40, only one more year to go) anyway.. lets scroll down shall we?

He got me THIS!!!!!!!!!! I was very surprised ( elated, but surprised) I have been wanting it for some time now. I was not expecting it. I started to save for it ( but my savings kept get spent on kid stuff!!!!) Happy Happy birthday girl!!! wait.. you thought I was finished didn't you.. nope.. shall we take a scroll??

AND THIS!!!!!!!!!!! It's on back order.. but it's coming!! whohooooooo!!! it's coming.. today in fact is the estimated delivery day!!! Joyful Joyful birthday girl!!!!!! WAIT.. again!!!! A scrolling we will go... a scrolling we will go....
AND THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! ( not sure how to take this gift..) LOL!!! totally kidding, I wanted this. It was the only thing I really cared about at the gym. Man.. this guy is good!!!

He actually got a bonus on a house he just finished, and decided to spend it spoiling me!! ( usually it goes into savings) I am just so surprised!!! and so grateful!! there is something else!! ( can you believe it?) you'll have to check out Sandi's blog to see it, because it's not here yet, and Lisa
doesn't have it listed on her site, it was a special mothers day edition. It is beautiful, I can't wait for it to get here!!! :) check out Lisa's website for more gorgeous items! WOW... lucky me! now, I'll be a picture taking, exercising, necklace wearing fool!! :)

I've Got Mail!!

YIPPIE...look what came in the mail yesterday!! My new labels!! ( notice a new label on the bottom??) I have started a charity called " A stitch and A Prayer" I have been making blankets to send to orphanages and for local needy children and have attached a prayer card. I also sell them locally and send the proceeds for other items such as formula, diapers, clothing etc.. I am very excited about this project. If you would like to be involved, feel free to shoot me and email or leave a comment. :)
Here is one of the blankets. I wrote a prayer and attached it, I really wanted to get our children praying for the children of the world. I think that many children don't realize just how fortunate they are that there are children out there that suffer on a daily basis. Being foster parents, we see that happen right under our noses.. it's very sad. The prayer reads..

Dear Lord, As I wrap my blankie tight;
be with every child tonight.
Those who suffer, those in pain
heal them, comfort them I ask in your name.
Let them know that you are there,
that others love them, that I care.
Fill their tummies, quench their thirst
and I pray above all, that they keep you first.
Amen.

If you would be interested in purchasing a blankie, send me an email with your color choices. The blankets sell for $16

John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.

Psalm 68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling.

Sweet stuff!! I have had these cupcakes cut out forever now, I finally decided to use them. :) I am going to be putting this cupcake onsie and matching hair clip in my etsy shop. I'm making some for my niece Ashley who is due in August with my great niece Sayla... I can't wait!! My other niece Erin is due in October, we aren't sure yet if I'll be making cupcakes or something a little more masculine. I can't wait to find out!! either way, it will be fun making cute little somethings for him or her! :) This is all very exciting!!!!!!!
We had a very strange visitor in our yard yesterday, I snapped these pictures because I've never seen a turtle quite like this??? have you?? I called my sister because she the queen of Animal kingdom... They have a big pond in the back of their yard with coi fish, turtles, you name it, if it swims, I think it's in there.. anyhoo... she knows lots about turtles, so I take these pictures, she is speechless.. what the hey????? never have I seen a turle with an alligators tail or a spikey shell...whaaa??? I decided that I was going to do some research and find out just who this little fella could be.. then, in walks Terry. The conversation went a little something like this

me~ HONEY, come LOOK at these pictures of this WIERD looking turtle that I found in the yard today..

Terry~ yea, so???

Me~ LOOK at it, LOOK at that tail??? it's a dinosaur of some sort, look at that head, that shell?? strange..

Terry~ Good grief Michelle, It's an Alligator turtle. City girl.
out walks Terry ( chuckling)

so I didn't discover some long lost species..... at least I had the alligator thingy right..

SCORE!!!!!!!

Lookie at what I found today.... lucky girl I am!! I love, love, love this !! I bought it at a yard sale this morning, it was a steal. ( I won't tell you how much I paid for it, it would make you cry) It actually does have a laddle, but the handle is broken, still, a very pretty piece.

As if that were not grand enough.. I happened up on these treasures!!
There were actually 2 of these plates ( yes, I got them both!!) and these wonderful wooden doll? candle holders? I don't really care what they are.. they are divine and they are MINE! :)The bigger doll looks like she was supposed to have some sort of lid, she's hallow all the way down. and the bottom of her looks as if it were supposed to maybe fit into something else?( curiouser and curiouser) If anyone has any idea what she was intended to be, I would love to hear it, not that it really matters, she makes me smile. The little one has one hole in the top of her head that looks like a candle should go in it.. They both came from a woman who said that she "picked them up in Holland".. well, next time I'm in Holland, I 'll be sure to buy some more! The Plates? well, they can just speak for themselves...it was a good day indeed!

Ballet and Birds

This is my Niece Lilly, she dances for the Alabama Ballet Company, she's lovely isn't she? She is on the poster for the Ballet. She is incredibly beautiful and graceful!

I just listed these in my Etsy shop. I'm going to be a great Aunt TWICE.. One we know is a girl, Sayla is her name. She'll be spoiled rotten, at least she will be if I have anything to do with it ( and you know I will)

Inspiration!

I think I mentioned before that I'm a bit obsessed with crafy blogs. A few of my favorites have some great tutorials and patterns for personal use. I made this adorable doll for Gabbie from Emily's pattern and tutorial. I think I could have stuffed her more, she's sitting kind of wonky, but what the hey.. it's my first one, live and learn. I do like her shifty eyes.

I am also a sucker for pincushions lately, this was a suprise to me, I never knew I loved them so much, but I do.. oh I do!! Oh, and the cute, cute pins to go in them. My heart skips a beat when I see them, I am without a doubt making some of those mine in the very near future ( maybe even today!)

The cute bird pattern came from another favorite blog of mine. Linda Brecht was kind enough to share her pattern. She had such a cute pincushion made from hers, I am making my birds into mobiles for an orphanage in Africa, but I decided that I would make myself a pincushion too, couldn't resist.

Gabbie is loving her dolly, so soft and pillowy! :) I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening, I'll have more to share.
Until then..

Saying Goodbye

Goodbye sweet baby, we love you!

You never get used to it, one would think that the many times we have to do it, that we would get used to it. We don't.

I have no intention of making this blog a soap box for fostering or adoption, that being said.. if you can do it, do it, the life you change could be your own.
